Brief
A yeast manufacturing company and provider of solutions for bread making engaged Webhaptic Intelligence to conduct a consumer taste test for preferred bread samples in Nigeria. The objective of the study was to gather the opinions of consumers regarding the smell, taste, texture, and overall preference for various bread samples that were subjected to testing and to ascertain their willingness to purchase the product.
Approach
Webhaptic Intelligence carried out the project using the In-home product placement approach. Under this method, Interviewers placed a single sample from a selection of seven different breads at each respondent’s residence, allowing them to conduct a consumer taste test for preferred bread samples. Subsequently, respondents were posed a brief question about their experience with the sampled bread using a structured questionnaire. The test was conducted in three distinct locations: Lagos, Kano, and Enugu across selected age groups and social class.
Impact
The consumer taste test revealed the bread samples most preferred by consumers in terms of smell, taste, texture, and overall preference. The data was used to inform the decision-making of our client.
