Brief
A leading manufacturer of one the most efficient charcoal and firewood cookstoves engaged Webhaptic Intelligence to assess the cooking patterns in Nigeria and establish the need for improved cookstoves. The study aims to understand how best to improve the living and cooking conditions of households in Nigeria.
The Approach
Webhaptic Intelligence carried out the study in two phases. The first phase involved a preliminary review of secondary data, including relevant project documents for key information on cooking patterns, and stove use profiles. The second phase involved primary data collection at the household level on cooking patterns and fuel usage.
The Output
The study established the number of people served by different cookstoves in both rural and urban households, the mode of usage (e.g., domestic), and the types of fuels used.
